“Guess Less. Sell More.”
The “Guess Less” campaign builds on the brilliant and elaborate “Did you mean MailChimp” campaign. Owl Cat Bat, Cut A Rug, and Banana Fish Cake directs the original mispronunciation towards the uncertainty of their users marketing effort — offering millions of datapoints for increasing engagement and revenue — “removing the guesswork.”

Rebuilt from the Sound Up
Rebuilt from the Sound Up was a campaign to showcase the new 2nd Generation Apple AirPods Pro. The concept uses particle layout and movement to represent the Spatial Audio and Active Noise Cancellation. The particle design and animation was built in Cinema 4D, X-Particles and rendered in Redshift. Versions of the spots have been used on Apple’s annual event WWDC23, and are currently available on Apple.com.

Uncommon
UPMC - Uncommon was the culmination of many super-talented studios and creatives, led by Director Ben Trickleback. ETC brought me on to design many of the medical HUD and 3D elements seen throughout the spot. We had several designers, animators and compositors working practically, and in Cinema 4D, X-Particles, Houdini, and After Effects to develop the medical imagining and CG content.

A Brief History of Silica
Intel reached out to Chapeau to imagine the full trajectory of silica. From space dust, through the formation of earth, and ultimately their foundation in CPUs. Intel wanted a relatable yet technical take on importance of silica. With full freedom and references like A Brief History of Time, and The Power of 10, I built an initial concept, style frames, and edit guidelines that referenced The Power of 10, Moore’s Law, and the exponential impact on computing and society.

Storytelling - Cardi B
Modern Logic was working with 1st Ave Machine and Meta on this Storytelling campaign. A series of spots were created, and piloted with “Cardi Tries” to showcase the ability of Meta Ads on brand development. I was brought in as the AD / Designer tasked with creating a visual language for streaming live videos. All elements were built in Cinema 4D and Redshift, and comped in After Effects.

Spotify Studios
Spotify brought me on to create content for their new Spotify Studios. This was a launch sizzle showcasing the deep talent pool that had already recorded there. I used all Adobe products to design and animate assets, and edit live action and audio.

The Lion and The Lamb.
5 “And one of the elders said to me, “Weep no more; behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has conquered, so that he can open the scroll and its seven seals.”
6 “And between the throne and the four living creatures and among the elders I saw a Lamb standing, as though it had been slain, with seven horns and with seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent out into all the earth. ” - Revelations 5:5-6
“The lion and the lamb shall lie down together; there will be no more war among the nations, after the battle of Armageddon; and no more persecution, after the slaughter of the witnesses...” -John Gill, on Isaiah 9:7, 18th century.
Drawing from the Book of Revelations and 18th century interpretations of Isaiah, we’ve developed a conceptual approach that draws parallels between David Koresh’s preaching, the polarity of our characters, and the context in which they’ve been represented...for better or worse.

Samsung Galaxy
This was a large scale 360º & performance marketing campaign to showcase and test Samsung’s new suite of foldable and mobile devices. Thousands of assets were concepted, created and tested for digital and OOH applications in the Texas market. I was brought on to Co-Creative Direct, and build a studio team for this multi-year effort. Aimee Brodbeck (CD), Adam Singer (TD / Animation), Dave Drage (Design / Animation), and Tristan Maduro (TD / Animation) - (to name a few) were essential in establishing one-and-done approvals from one of the most exacting and qualitative clients out there. We used a combination of Cinema 4D, X-Particles, Redshift, and After Effects.

Charter Spectrum Triple Play 60
This was a fairly elaborate project directed by Garrett Johnson for 1st Ave Machine, and designed by Garrett and Mancel Lindsey. Complete with lidar scans and alembic workarounds, they brought out all the stops in order to re-imagine Charter's new bandwidth capabilities. Mostly done in Cinema 4D and composited in Nuke, this project delved deep into Thinking Particles and Xpresso to perfect the form and function of the refracted light sweep, as it navigates through the spot.

Chevrolet Corvette Stingray
Chevrolet came to the Mill for the re-release of the Corvette Stingray. The timing was perfect for drawing the comparison between the Stingray and the much anticipated release of The Dark Knight. Directed by Nicolai Fugslig from MJZ, this was shot in LA and post-produced in New York. I worked on scene development and compositing for live action / vfx pickups.

KY Touch
This risque little number from Havas teases around the variety of uses a warming lubricant may have on a sleepy summer morning. And while the lock-up's nod to Kubrick's Space Odyssey suggests considerably more than necessary, it does lend itself to both form and function.

FX - Justified
These are initial designs for the intro and later, peripheral assets for FX’s series “Justified”, starring Timothy Olyphant and written by Elmore Leonard. Working directly with FX in-house design team, this style was gradually refined into a more filmic approach, included separately on the site. The intro, promo and show toolkit was produced to allow the FX team to pick and choose which element was most successful for the promo campaign. The toolkit was comprised of opens, closes, end-pages, transitions and a slew of editing tool kits.

Havas NYC
These boards were designed for the newly renovated Havas Lobby in NY. The lobby had 5 UHD flatscreens, laid out horizontally, fitting seamlessly. The idea behind these graphics were to represent the 300+ international locations of Havas. They're a series of crudely represented skylines of the cities that Havas resides. The colored cursor slides across the unwrapped earth, from side to side, magnetically manipulating the integrity of the world's skyline. It searches from city to city, first in elevation view, then in a bird's eye view.

Qualcomm's Uplinq Conference
This was a 5k projection, built by 1st Ave Machine for a 30' curved wall that was set behind the main stage of the Qualcomm Uplinq conference. The focus of the conference and the graphics were connectivity, communication, and their inherent effects as they relate within Qualcomm's diverse and innovative landscape. Directed by Garrett Johnson and designed by Mancel Lindsey.

KY Intense
In the next rendition, this risque little number focuses on maximizing the crescendo that KY's newest packaging may have on a sultry summer night. Originally using liquid and light to convey the impact and effectiveness of their new product, KY decided on rerouting to a more tasteful and cost effective concept. This became a welcomed opportunity to explore the limits of X-particles, TP, and bokehs.

You Got This!
This was the flagship spot for TD Ameritrade’s new campaign targeted at the next generation of investors. It was one of the first use cases with stylized vector or flat-shaded graphics, and heavily strained technologies and techniques that are more commonplace today. We used a combination of Illustrator, After Effects, and Duik to create realistic animations in this style.
